yinasavan,排灣族語「末梢的枝葉」。也是排灣族藝術家撒古流,在其族群處於主流社會的邊緣地位,持續接受自然滋養的期許。

繼承排灣族「藝匠」(Pulima)的血脈,撒古流自小跟在爺爺身邊創作,為部落服務,製作器物、雕刻及鑄鐵,七○年代末期,撒古流開始有意識地追尋自己族群的歷史與記憶。在歸屬與認同的過程中,大量承接了綿延流長的祖先的知識與觀念,排灣文化的哲學觀逐漸成為他在生活及藝術上的參照,除充分實踐於創作中,並發展出具主體性的原住民美學及語彙。

走進撒古流位於臺東都蘭的工作室,隨處可見其藝術創作,主題圍繞在常民生活及耆老口述的神話與傳說。其創作中經常可見的百步蛇與太陽的圖騰、陶壺飾紋、人物及服飾,都是排灣族文化的根底。在此圖像基礎上,以不同的視角,編排出族人的歷史事件與生活變遷。

撒古流繪圖中承載的龐大知識體系,源於其紮實的田野及獨立的思考。透過尋訪耆老,他將排灣族幾近失散的圖騰意象做系統性的蒐集、描繪與整理。李道明與陳若菲兩位導演的紀錄片《排灣人撒古流》、《排灣人撒古流:十五年後》,便見證了撒古流長期耕耘的田野採錄。他累積無數的筆記本裡,將傳統建築、物件、符號、圖騰等,工筆描繪、詳實記錄,為族人結構出清晰而完整的排灣社會。

自古以來,外族文化的強勢侵入,造成弱勢的原住民族對於自身文明價值的不確定,許多民族皆共同經歷了懷疑、否定、追尋、回歸與認同等擺盪的過程。直至八○年代,原住民族透過語言與文化的復振,透過「正名」行動打破非原住民族長期積累的刻板印象。不同族群的原住民,透過權利的抗爭,爭取政治與經濟上的主體性,以維護其身份及傳統。排灣魂的重生與召喚,也讓撒古流成為原權運動的先鋒。

「末梢的枝葉」試圖探索民族神話在當代社會的意涵。透過撒古流珍貴的繪畫、雕塑、筆記書以及裝置等多元形式的作品,重新看見這位當代排灣藝術家,如何拾尋於祖先的哲思路徑上,以藝術、文學為介,提出批判意見及社會行動。同時透過藝術家對談、紀錄片播映、美學講座的延伸,讓撒古流的創作,不僅是畫廊裡的展覽物件,而能激盪出更多原住民美學及族群政治的思辨。

The tip of the leaf is the closest point to the sun. When the sun rises in the morning, it is the first place that sunlight touches. It is also the last place to lose the day's warmth when the sun sets.

The tip of the leaf is where eagles choose to make their homes. It is also the starting point where young eagles learn to fly.

Sakuliu was born in Pingtung County in the Sandimen village. He is a pioneer in the indigenous cultural revival movement in Taiwan. As a child, he worked alongside his grandfather to create art, serve his people, and make traditional crafts, sculptures and metalwork. At the end of the 1970s, he began investigating the history and memories of the Paiwan ethnic group. In the period of searching for identity, his mind was flooded with a continuous string of ideas and knowledge such that the philosophy of Paiwan culture gradually became the inspiration for his life and work. Through his creations, sakuliu brings into life and practice the aesthetics and visual vocabulary of aboriginal culture.

This exhibition invites sakuliu to explore the importance of "Tribe Tales" in modern society through this personal exhibition. Through his paintings, sculptures, sketches, audiovisual installations and diverse media, we are invited to see this modern Paiwanese artist with new eyes. In a search for his ancestry through art and literature, he offers us a critical perspective on modern society and social movements.

開幕茶會參加觀眾注意事項:

  1. 網路報名:於活動前3週之週一起開放本校聯合報名系統登錄報名,報名狀態為「確認」者,於活動當日依到場順序入場,典禮開始前15分鐘起視同現場候補。(主辦單位保留時間彈性調整權)
  2. 現場候補:依據現場實際出席狀況,開放現場候補進場名額,席滿為止。
  3. 預計前半小時開放進場,實際情形將視現場情況調整。
  4. 全程參與之校內公務人員/學生,可依活動時間登錄終身學習紀錄/全人系統活動紀錄
For attendees of the opening ceremony, please note:

  1. Online Registration: Registration for the event will begin three Mondays before the event. If registration is confirmed, please come to the event at least fifteen minutes early as alternates will be placed at that time. (The event host reserves the right to offer more time flexibility in this process).
  2. Alternates: Alternates will be permitted seating in order until the auditorium is filled.
  3. The auditorium will open thirty minutes before the ceremony, or adjusted as necessary according to the number of attendees.
  4. University students and employees can record participation of this event in their "life-long learning" or "PDMS".
